Lanesville Community Schools
We shelter in place in the basement part of our building
North Harrison Community Schools
We do not have specific safe rooms. We have specific interior hallways that we utilize.
South Harrison County community Schools
We have statewide requirements that we all follow.
West Clark Community
If a warning is issued, we of course notify the buildings impacted, we then will immediately shelter in place with all staff and students. A collectively decision will then be made to determine next steps once the warning has been lifted. Communication will be handled via our mass email/voice/texting system through our student management system.
New Albany Floyd County Consolidated School
In all of our buildings we have designated tornado shelter areas.
Greater Clark County Schools
Every school is different as the principal and our school safety specialists have identified their "safe spaces" so when a warning is issued, students and staff move to those areas in the buildings.
Clarksville Community Schools
We use the basement in our elementary and high school but not our middle school or Renaissance Academy.
Southwestern Jefferson County Consolidated Schools
We do not have any tornado storm shelters per se, however our elementary school does have a basement that can hold all students and staff and is therefore used as a storm shelter.
Madison Consolidated Schools
we do not have a tornado storm shelter and there are currently no construction projects for any.
West Washington School Corporation
We do not have any structure specifically designed as a storm shelter.
KENTUCKY DISTRICTS
Jefferson County Schools
None of our existing schools has a designated storm shelter location that meets the new building criteria; however, every one of our current sites has safe storm locations that students can go to in the event of a weather emergency.
Archdiocese of Louisville
Though it is not clear that any school has a storm shelter as described in the building code, all schools follow the safety protocols of moving students to the lowest levels with interior walls. Students are instructed to sit/kneel facing the wall, with hands over the back of heads and necks, tucked into a ball. Schools also hold tornado drills each year.
Bullitt County Schools
Although all of our schools have plans that include protocols for weather safety, none of our schools have constructed tornado shelters.
Hardin County Schools
We do not have any schools in our district with a storm shelter.
Nelson County Schools
We have no known specified storm shelters in the district.
Shelby County Schools
Shelby County Public Schools has not constructed any stand alone tornado storm shelters.
Henry County Schools
We do not have storm shelters per say, we follow the appropriate guidelines and safe spots to evacuate to in each building.
Oldham County Schools
1) Implement procedure for use of Safe Zones for Severe Weather, 2) All students and staff proceed to designated Safe Zone for Severe Weather, 3) Remain quiet to hear further instructions, 4) Follow standard student accounting and reporting procedures within building, 5) Remain in the Safe Zones for Severe Weather until the "all clear" is given
